WOMEN'S MINISTRY PROGRAMS

Mary-Martha Circle

This all volunteer group conducts its own fundraising, which is used to support various missions, both inside and outside the church: to make needed improvements to the church kitchen, help with food for memorial services, support children in Uganda, send care packages to college students, plan church potlucks, and much more. They are one of the volunteer teams that take turns providing for coffee hour after Sunday worship. Approximately 15 women are active in the Mary Martha Circle. They meet Sept. – May on the 4th Tuesday of the month, 1:00 in the church library.

Faith Café

Ladies, join us for coffee and conversation centered around life, faith, and community. Currently we meet every Tuesday in the fellowship hall at 10:00 am-11:30 am.

9-5 Women

Usually the first Friday of each month*, 12:30-1pm in the FHPC library, with soup and sourdough, for ongoing discussion and fellowship on the question: How do we keep our full lives centered on Jesus, making the most of the discipleship opportunities in our daily work and home life?

*Planning for May 2 in the library and maybe June 6 location TBD, then a summer break.

Praying Like Monks, Living Like Fools:

An Invitation to the Wonder and Mystery of Prayer September 17 is the first discussion of Praying Like Monks, Living Like Fools: An Invitation to the Wonder and Mystery of Prayer by Tyler Staton. For this first time we'll start with a soup supper potluck at 5:30, then move on to hearty discussion 6:30 - 7:30pm. “The most important discovery you will ever make is the love the Father has for you,” writes Pete Greig, founder of the 24-7 Prayer Movement. “Your power in prayer will flow from the certainty that the One who made you likes you, he is not scowling at you, he is on your side . . . Unless our mission and our acts of mercy, our intercession, petition, confession, and spiritual warfare begin and end in the knowledge of the Father’s love, we will act and pray out of desperation, determination, and duty instead of revelation, expectation, and joy.” Tyler Staton, Praying Like Monks, Living Like Fools: An Invitation to the Wonder and Mystery of Prayer
